Hacienda Experience Movement for Everyone Giving Back to the Community in South Texas

Giving Back to the Community in South Texas

Founded in 2012 by Hacienda Ford employees, the Hacienda Experience Movement for Everyone (HEME) began as a heartfelt toy drive and has since blossomed into a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to enrich the lives of individuals and families in the Rio Grande Valley through meaningful contributions and community engagement.

Our Initiatives:

  • Annual Vehicle Giveaway: Each year, HEME proudly presents a deserving individual with a new vehicle to enhance their mobility and opportunities. In 2024, we awarded a brand-new Ford Maverick to Destiny Garcia, a high school senior recognized for her resilience and commitment to education.
  • Annual Toy Drive: Continuing our tradition, we collect and distribute toys to children in need, bringing joy and hope during the holiday season.
  • Skeet Shoot Fundraiser: To support our initiatives, we host an annual skeet shoot event, with all proceeds funding our vehicle giveaway and toy drive.

2017 Car Giveaway Program

Making college and career opportunities more accessible to high school students, H.E.M.E. awarded three high school seniors with a vehicle.

With numerous outstanding students from Edinburg High Schools, the H.E.M.E. team reviewed applications and narrowed it down to six students. Those six students then advanced to the finalist round where they were interviewed by our committee. Taking into account their background, experiences, applications, and interview, three lucky students were chosen. The announcement was celebrated at the annual H.E.M.E. ceremony.
